Warning

Judith Taylor

Earthlight.
The daylit side of the world
is shining, white

with cloud, that over here
has been swept away, and the storm
following.

Wary calm diffuses
into the dusk. The old moon shows itself
on the new moon's arm. Too late.

Lare

Judith Taylor

Erd-licht.
The daylicht side of the warld's
sheenin, white

wi cloods that ower here
hae been scour'd awa, an the skail
eftir them.

Quate comes stealin, ware-like,
through the gloam. I see the auld mune
in the new mune's airm. Ower late.
